Mike Dellosso could very well be the next Frank Peretti… (C.J. Darlington, Cofounder and book editor, Titletrakk.com)
Mike also happens to be a really awesome guy! I subscribed to his free monthly newsletter the other month and was rewarded by being sent a PDF of his short story ‘The Last Hunt’ which is exclusively available to his subscribers. I can’t say that I’ve read multitudes of short stories in my lifetime, but compared to those I have, The Last Hunt is by far the best (and creepiest).
I won’t divulge any of the story, except to say that it includes an isolated hut in the woods, otherworldly screams and the creature right out of your worst nightmare.
The Last Hunt is written in first person prose, which if done well (eg Lawhead), can conjure such vivid imagery in the reader’s mind which can last a lifetime. Dellosso’s description of the creature in this story will stick with me for life.
The Last Hunt is a creepy (but God-glorifying) story, is extremely thought provoking, and for all of you slow readers and console gamers out there… it is short.
Click here to visit Mike Dellosso’s website, subscribe to his monthly mailinglist, print off The Last Hunt and read it alone tonight.

maybe i just don’t get scared that easily lol but was a pretty good short story definitely!
We’re all different. Maybe it’s my imagination that scares me.
Actually Mike’s description of the demonic creature and the wayit was run into by the main character was probably the scariest I’ve ever read. Much moreso than Chayatocha or even the exorcism scene in Adam.
The only thing I didn’t like about this otherwise great story was the ending. The creature kind of just evaporates into thin air and we are left with the main character sitting in his truck and then it’s finished.
But short stories are certainly just as hard to end as novels, so I still hold it in high regard.
I think it’s because I get scared from things I believe could actually happen. If it’s got even a hint of fantasy in it, my imagination can run wild without fear lol but reality scares me
I agree Jon. Perhaps the prologue to a full-length novel?
I love the cover design for this short story… a very humble Symon forgot to mention who did it for Mike!
no way? how cool is that?
